Global Data Technical Leader – Direct hire in multinational (Barcelona)
Our client is a leading European multinational in collective catering and food services, with presence in multiple countries and tens of thousands of employees worldwide.
In Spain, they are creating a Global Data Center of Excellence (Data CoE) to support all business units and countries across the group.
This centralized hub will initially have a team of 20–30 people and will be key to:
Centralize and harmonize data at a global level.
Ensure data quality, governance, and security.
Standardize processes and reporting across all business units and countries.
Ensure that data knowledge remains within the company.
This is a greenfield project. This role will be one of the first senior-management hires, setting the foundations of the hub and shaping the global data model.
Your role: Global Data Technical Leader
A technical-functional reference role within the new Barcelona Data CoE, focused on coordinating, translating, and channeling business needs into the right data solutions, ensuring global coherence and alignment.
Main responsibilities:
Coordinate the data strategy and architecture of the Barcelona hub, aligned with the global vision defined by the group.
Translate business needs into technical solutions, channeling each request to the right vertical (MDM, Integrations, Reporting & BI).
Analyze existing solutions within the group and propose well-founded alternatives when not valid.
Define and document functional and technical data management processes, standardizing them and ensuring global adoption.
Safeguard data governance, quality, and security, ensuring GDPR and regulatory compliance.
Act as key liaison with global stakeholders: business owners, process owners, data owners, and international technical teams.
Plan and document system evolution, ensuring consistency and alignment with the global strategy.
Conditions
Salary: 55–65K + 10–15% bonus.
Hybrid model: 2-3 days remote.
Flexible schedule and reduced working hours on Fridays and during summer.

What are they looking for?
5–8 years of experience in data management / data architecture in international or complex environments.
Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science or similar.
Experience working with international stakeholders and coordinating data teams or projects.
Ability to document and communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Advanced English (C1); French is a plus.
Proficiency in modern data platforms, including:
Cloud: Azure.
Processing: Databricks.
Integration: Logic Apps, Service Bus, ETL/ESB.
Relational and non-relational databases.
Reporting: Power BI / Business Objects.
MDM: IBM Product Master or similar equivalents.
