At Q-tech, we are partnering with a large international retail & technology group with a strong presence in Barcelona. Their local tech hub is growing fast and strengthening its People Operations area.

We are looking for a Payroll Specialist with solid expertise in Spanish payroll and labor regulations to support this expansion.

This is a hands-on role where payroll accuracy, compliance and data reliability are central. You will join a People team that is growing, reorganizing responsibilities and strengthening its operational foundations.

What you will do

• Prepare, validate and consolidate all monthly payroll data (incidents, shift changes, bonuses, leaves, contract updates, etc.).
• Coordinate closely with an external payroll provider and review final payroll outputs before approval.
• Ensure full compliance with Spanish labor legislation and the applicable collective agreement.
• Manage labor relations topics and collaborate with external legal partners when needed.
• Maintain accurate HR data across systems and support audits, inspections and compliance reviews.
• Produce HR reports and metrics, ensuring clarity, consistency and reliability.
• Provide guidance to managers from different countries on payroll and labor-related matters.
• Contribute to the improvement of People Operations processes, documentation and workflows.

Requisitos básicos

• Strong experience in Spanish payroll and labor law.
• Ability to manage complex payroll cycles with precision and attention to detail.
• Experience preparing payroll for external execution (in-house execution not required).
• Solid understanding of employee lifecycle events and their payroll impact.
• Comfortable working with Excel and HR systems; analytical mindset and high data accuracy.
• Good level of English to collaborate with international stakeholders.
• Proactive, organized and adaptable, with the ability to work in evolving environments.
